GUELPH LAKE Island
Guelph Lake Island is home to the wonderful Hillside Festival every summer. We've been volunteering there for the past four years, listening to great music (pictured right) and dancing up a storm. When we decided that we wanted an outdoor wedding, this gorgeous natural setting was the obvious choice.
You can drive into the park (tell the warden that you're attending the Slonetsky/Armstrong wedding to get your park fee waived) and straight onto the Island, where you'll be able to park.
If weather permits, the ceremony will be outdoors with some picnic bench seating and some picnic blanket seating. If weather does not permit, the ceremony will be held in the same tent where we will be eating and revelling, which will be right next to the dance pavilion. There will be a fire later in the evening, and merriment late into the night.
*It is technically a peninsula, but that doesn't have nearly the same ring to it.
